We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The Staff Accountant will be responsible for assisting with the preparation and maintenance of financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. Knowledge of EXCEL is a MUST. Knowledge of QuickBooks preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and record accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions.
  • Match invoices with purchase orders and verify approvals before payment.
  • Prepare and issue checks, receipts, and payment vouchers.
  • Reconcile bank statements, Credit Card statements, vendor accounts, and customer balances.
  • Maintain accurate and organized financial records and filing systems.
  • Assist with payroll data entry and related reporting as needed.
  • Post journal entries and update the general ledger under supervision.
  • Respond to inquiries from vendors, customers, and internal staff regarding payments and account status.
  • Perform other administrative tasks as assigned to support the accounting team

Qualities:

  • BA in Accounting/Finance OR 3-5 years hands-on experience in small corporation (Startup experience desired).
  • Experience working in subscription base (e-commerce), recurring revenue model – MUST!
  • Experience with QuickBooks – MUST!
  • Proficiency in excel.
  • Reporting Skills, Attention to Details, Deadline oriented.
  • Confidentiality, Time Management, Data Entry Management.
  • Team player and fun to work with.

Location:

  • This opportunity is based in the Boston area (Waltham, MA) and requires five days a week in office.
